BREAKING TRADE!! Dodgers Reportedly Pursuing Blockbuster Trade For $85 Cubs Million Slugger

The Los Angeles Dodgers have already made some major additions this winter, but there are still players they’re chasing.

Dodgers Reportedly Pursuing Blockbuster Trade For Cubs' Seiya Suzuki - Newsweek

One of them is outfielder Teoscar Hernández, who was a key piece of the Dodgers’ 2024 World Series title. A lot of teams are vying for Hernández’s services, though.

If Los Angeles misses on its former outfielder, where will it turn to replace him? Bleacher Report’s Julia Stumbaugh recently cited a report that indicated the Dodgers could be pursuing Chicago Cubs outfielder Seiya Suzuki as a trade candidate this winter.

“The Dodgers have reportedly considered deals for Chicago White Sox center fielder Luis Robert Jr. or Chicago Cubs right fielder Seiya Suzuki, according to The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal,” Stumbaugh wrote. “

Suzuki holds a full no-trade clause, so he has a say in whether or not he would be heading to Los Angeles in a potential trade.

He reportedly doesn’t want to stick with the DH position he assumed for the end of the 2024 season (h/t Jordan Bastian), so being offered a spot in the Dodgers outfield could be enough to draw him to California.”

This kind of addition should be looked at as a luxury trade for Los Angeles. It’s not one the Dodgers need to make just yet, but if a favorable deal falls in their lap, it would be tough to say no.

Suzuki is being paid a pretty penny for the next few seasons, so a key piece of the trade might be how much money the Cubs are willing to eat in the deal.

If Chicago eats about half the deal, the Dodgers could trade a pitcher like Bobby Miller to the Windy City to appease the Cubs and bring Suzuki to Los Angeles.
