During the final night of her ‘Eras Tour’ stop in New Orleans, Taylor Swift appeared to make her Super Bowl prediction while singing the bridge in her song ‘Midnight Rain’ on Sunday evening.
Swift has been dating Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce since last September and has attended 16 of his games in person after their romance began.
The Chiefs are the two-time defending NFL champions and this year’s Super Bowl takes place where Swift was performing over the weekend, from the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.
After Swift sang the lyrics ‘And he never thinks of me. Except when I’m on TV,’ she put three fingers on her lips and then held them in the air, an obvious nod to her boyfriend’s team making NFL history.
No NFL team in the Super Bowl era has won three consecutive championships. Thus far in the season, the Chiefs have not lost at 7-0.
And before Swift closed the song with ‘I guess sometimes we all get some kind of haunted, some kind of haunted and I never think of him,’ the crowd in New Orleans understood the reference and let out a huge cheer.
Swift knows a thing or two about the Chiefs being in the Super Bowl, having attended last year’s win in Las Vegas and giving Kelce an infamous smooch on the field after the overtime victory.
It was after Swift’s Japanese leg of the ‘Eras Tour’ that she hastily flew back to the United States to watch the game in person.
Swift attended all four of the Chiefs’ playoff games last season, each of which was in a different city.
Overall, Kansas City has a 13-3 record with Swift in attendance. And the Chiefs are on a 13-game win streak dating back to last Christmas’ loss to the Raiders, who they defeated on Sunday.
Swift plays her final ‘Eras Tour’ concerts this weekend at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
The Chiefs do not play again until Monday night’s clash with the Buccaneers, meaning Swift could attend her first road game of Kelce’s of the season.
