The pop star celebrated the end of her Eras Tour in style, finally enjoying one of the fans’ favorite traditions from her $2 billion tour
Taylor Swift could finally partake in one of the fans’ favorite Eras Tour traditions!
At a party for the pop superstar in Kansas City — a surprise planned by her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, to honor the end of her record-breaking tour — Kelce gave Swift the “22” hat, replicating a much-loved moment from her shows.
Every night on tour, the singer would strut down the stage’s massive catwalk while performing her Red hit “22,” before crouching at the edge to present a black fedora to one lucky fan. (Selena Gomez’s sister Gracie and Vanessa and Kobe Bryant’s daughter Bianka were among some of the recipients throughout the 149-date tour.)
At Swift’s party on Wednesday, however, she had the opportunity to receive the black fedora herself — this time from Kelce. The moment was captured in a photo shared by Swift’s bestie Ashley Avignone, which she posted to Instagram on Thursday, Dec. 19 with the caption “and the last 22 hat goes to…”
In another post, Avignone shared several other snaps from the blowout celebration, showing off the dozens of Eras Tour references that Kelce pulled together for the birthday party: the faux-cleaning cart the “Cruel Summer” singer used to travel from her dressing room to the stage, the iconic green capes Swift wore while performing her Evermore track “Willow” and even the friendship bracelets donned by many of the guests in attendance.
“When she thought she was going to a small, quiet dinner but it was actually a giant surprise party with her friends and family, props included ” Avignone captioned an carousel of pictures she posted to Instagram.
Among the star-studded guest list was Brittany Mahomes — dressed in a shimmering silver fringe mini dress that she paired with knee-high boots, reminiscent of Swift’s Fearless era — alongside her husband Patrick Mahomes, who rocked a suit emblematic of Kelce’s on-stage Eras Tour moment over the summer.
Chiefs WAG Lyndsay Bell also dressed to theme, showing off a Lover pink fringe ensemble, and Avignone wore a plush snake around her neck in a reference to Swift’s sixth album Reputation, per photos shared to Instagram by Brittany.
And though the birthday girl was not dressed in an Eras Tour look — it was a surprise, after all — she stunned nonetheless, donning a $4,290 black Balmain halter-neck minidress, embellished with a crystal accent down the front.
Earlier in the week, to honor Swift’s Dec. 13 birthday, the NFL posted a romantic video of the pop star and Kelce — who made their first public appearance as an item after a Chiefs game in September 2023. The date was also marked by a host of Swift’s Eras Tour team, including dancers and band members, who gushed on social media about touring with the Grammy winner for the past two years.
“I hope that today you experience tenfold the love you put out!” backup dancer Kam Saunders wrote on Instagram. “To me, to the cast and crew, to your friends and family, and to your fans!”
Wrote Swift’s longtime bass player Amos Heller: “Happy birthday @taylorswift. Always grateful you braided my dreams with yours.”
