Pop star Taylor Swift and her NFL player partner, Travis Kelce, are reportedly planning to spend the holidays at the football pro’s $6 million Kansas City mansion—just weeks after the property was burglarized by a suspected crime ring.
According to The Sun, Swift, 35, who just completed her wildly successful international “Eras Tour,” is hoping to enjoy some well-deserved R&R at Kelce’s sprawling home, with a source telling the outlet that the “Bad Blood” singer will be spending several weeks there.
“She will be going to Kansas City and staying there for some time during the next few weeks to be with Travis and show him love and support,” the insider said, adding that Swift hopes to attend several of Kelce’s games during that time, in the hopes of “witnessing another potential championship season for the Chiefs.”
But that’s not all the songstress is hoping to get up to, according to the source, who claims that she will also ensure the pair of them get to enjoy plenty of downtime together.
“She is happy they will spend time together, having nice dinners, relaxing, and baking,” they went on. “Christmas will be a special holiday for both of them.”
Swift’s plans to hunker down at the 17,000-square-foot Leawood, KS, mansion may well have raised eyebrows among her nearest and dearest given that the property was recently infiltrated by burglars who are said to have broken into the home on Oct. 7 and stolen thousands of dollars worth of items.
Multiple reports state that the thieves made off with $10,000 worth of jewelry, $20,000 in cash, and even Kelce’s first-ever Super Bowl jersey.
The robbery took place just hours after the home of Kelce’s teammate Patrick Mahomes was also burglarized, with the NFL later issuing a warning to players that a South American crime gang might be targeting the league’s biggest stars, according to The Sun.
Kelce has not publicly addressed the robbery. However, it has been reported that he took steps to bolster his security by upgrading his in-home system and adding reinforced locks.
The FBI is currently investigating the incident, as well as the break-in at Mahomes’ property.
It remains to be seen whether the break-in has altered Kelce’s plans to upgrade the home, which he purchased in 2023, by installing a custom underground man cave that will house a golf simulator.
Just days after the burglary at his home, it was reported that the sporting superstar had filed plans for the unique space, with documents revealing that builders would begin work by digging up the basement floor and lowering it by 2 feet.
The city of Leawood, which is 20 minutes south of Arrowhead Stadium, where the Chiefs play, is understood to have approved Kelce’s excavation, with reports indicating that a construction team was seen arriving at the property just this week.
Kelce’s underground space will join a long list of impressive amenities already found inside the home—which he scored for something of a deal, offering $900,000 less than the original $6.9 million asking price.
The house features six bedrooms, six bathrooms, a chef’s kitchen, a formal dining room, a media lounge, a wine cellar, and a full bar.
A beautiful pool sits outside alongside manicured lawns. Nearby there’s an outdoor kitchen, tennis and pickleball court, waterfall, hot tub, and miniature golf course.
Located inside a gated community, the grand estate sits on nearly 3.5 acres at the end of a cul-de-sac. The mansion is far more secluded than his other home in Kansas City, a 4,200-square-foot mansion in the Briarcliff West neighborhood that he purchased for $995,000 in 2019.
Swift has paid several visits to the home since her relationship with Kelce began—while he has also been a guest at a number of her homes.
