BREAKING NEWS as Rúben Amorim reveals why he sign the 17 years old young star who will soon join the club to replace Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia.

“He plays like Marcelo and he is very skills full and strong. I wanted to sign him when I at Sporting. I wanted to make him a would class player and I will do that hereif I don’tget sacked.”-BREAKING NEWS as Rúben Amorim reveals why he sign the 17 years old young star who will soon join the club to replace Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia.

Cerro Porteño sporting director Gabriel Wainer has confirmed that Manchester United are leading the race to sign highly-rated young left-back Diego León.

The 17-year-old has caught the attention of Premier League clubs and top European teams after a breakout season in Paraguay. León’s rapid development and potential have impressed United, who are reportedly making significant efforts to secure his signature.

According to the Manchester Evening News, United have extensively scouted León and are currently negotiating with Cerro Porteño on a proposed £3.1 million deal. The teenager is regarded as one of South America’s most promising talents, with his physical attributes—speed, height, and athleticism—standing out at such a young age.

In a press conference held in Paraguay, Wainer confirmed United’s strong interest in León:

“Manchester United has a clear intention to sign Diego León, but the paperwork has not yet been finalized. Other teams have also inquired about León recently, but Manchester United is the only one to formally express intent.”

At present, Tyrell Malacia is the first-choice option for the left-wing-back role in Ruben Amorim’s system. However, doubts remain about his long-term viability as the No. 1 option after an 18-month injury layoff. Similarly, Luke Shaw’s availability has been a concern due to recurring injury problems over the past two seasons.

The potential arrival of León would add depth and future-proof United’s options at left-back. While the deal is yet to be finalized, United appear determined to secure the services of the Paraguayan starlet, who could represent a key investment in the club’s long-term planning.
