(Gray News) – Taylor Swift ended her unprecedented Eras Tour with a big thank you to her team.According to People, over the course of the tour, Swift gave out $197 million in bonuses to everyone working on her tour, on top of their salaries.That includes truck drivers, caterers, instrument techs, merch team, lighting, sound, production staff and assistants, carpenters, dancers, band, security, choreographers, pyrotechnics, riggers, hair, make-up, wardrobe, physical therapists and video team, People reports.
Part of those bonuses include when the superstar made headlines last year for giving her Eras Tour truck drivers each $100,000 bonuses along with handwritten “thank you” notes. The CEO of the trucking company told CNN the “unbelievable” bonuses were “life-changing” for his drivers.The Eras Tour wrapped up its final show on Sunday at BC Place Stadium in Vancouver.
The tour kicked off in Glendale, Arizona, in March 2023 and consisted of 149 shows in total across the globe.Swift is no stranger to being generous during the Eras Tour. In addition to the massive bonuses for her crew, she made donations to food banks and charities in nearly every city she visited. In October, Second Harvest Food Bank in New Orleans said Swift made a donation large enough to serve 75,000 meals to families in need.
“When kindness meets action, magic happens,” Second Harvest Food Bank said in a Facebook post. “… This kind of generosity reminds us that making a difference is possible, together, with people who truly care.”
Swift has a long history of donating to nonprofits in the wake of natural disasters or tragic events, including a tornado that hit Tennessee in 2020 and a shooting in February 2024 at the Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl victory parade.
In addition, Swift also donated $5 million to Feeding America to support recent relief efforts in the aftermath of Hurricanes Helene and Milton.
The Eras Tour brought in a record $2.2 billion in its nearly two-year run, making it the highest-grossing tour of all time for a second year in a row, according to the Associated Press.
This year was a great year for the superstar. Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon Music each said that Swift was their top-streamed artist of 2024 and that her album “The Tortured Poets Department” was the top-streamed album of the year.
