A major update just emerged regarding Chiefs WR Marquise “Hollywood” Brown’s pending return from injury and it sounds like Kansas City expects the speedster to return to practice this week.

Appearing on 96.5 The Fan with Cody Tapp and Alex Gold, Nate Taylor of The Athletic revealed that he’s been told by people within the organization that Brown is expected to practice either Wednesday or Thursday.

Taylor noted that Brown will not play on Sunday against Cleveland, though the Christmas target date still seems plausible. It ultimately depends on how the receiver looks. If he’s healthy and capable, the Chiefs certainly want him on the field.

Hollywood Brown Expected to Practice for Chiefs This Week

The most important takeaway is that all signs point to Brown being ready for the postseason when the Chiefs need him the most. Kansas City has had brutal luck with injuries so nothing is set in stone, but Brown could help transform this offense as an accomplished deep threat with a successful track record.

He’s just two years removed from a 1,000-yard season and is only 27 years old. While Brown signed just a one-year deal in hopes of building his value for a lengthy contract next year, losing this season to injury likely means Brown will have to take another short-term deal in 2025.

Should that be the case, perhaps he could come back to the Chiefs for one more season. With Rashee Rice’s potential suspension looming, Kansas City certainly needs reinforcements at the position.

DeAndre Hopkins is a candidate to return as he’s developed a strong rapport with Patrick Mahomes. Xavier Worthy has been solid in his rookie year but outside of him, there are a ton of question marks for the Chiefs’ passing attack moving forward.

How Brown looks over the final weeks could determine if this team wins a third straight Super Bowl, so here’s hoping practice goes well and he’s able to finally get on the field.
