Gyokeres, 26, put himself firmly on the radar with an outstanding hat-trick in Sporting’s recent Champions League clash against Manchester City, bringing his season tally to an impressive 23 goals in 17 appearances. His performances this season have drawn widespread interest, with the Swedish forward rapidly establishing himself as one of Europe’s most sought-after strikers.
Having joined Sporting from Coventry City in July 2023 for £20 million, Gyokeres quickly adapted to top-flight European football, helping Sporting to the Portuguese title in his debut season.
Though his contract with Sporting runs until 2028 and includes a €100 million (£83 million) release clause, reports indicate that the club would consider bids in the region of £63 million in the upcoming summer transfer window, according to The Telegraph’s Mike McGrath.
