BREAKING: Chiefs WR DeAndre Hopkins said his goal with the Chiefs

Kansas City Chiefs receiver DeAndre Hopkins made his main goal for the remainder of the season clear after being traded.

After a 6-0 start, the Kansas City Chiefs added a new dangerous weapon to their offense, trading for All-Pro DeAndre Hopkins. After the trade was reportedly agreed-upon on Wednesday, it was made official on Thursday, as the star receiver arrived in Kansas City.

In his introductory press conference, Hopkins made it clear that he really has one goal with the Chiefs.

“I’ve done a lot, all the accolades that I can accomplish as far as personal [goals],” Hopkins said. “So I think just playing meaningful football in January is what’s left on the list… [Playing for a contender] takes your game to a different level. It [raises] your focus, your drive, knowing that you’re playing for something.”

Now in his 12th season, Hopkins has yet to play in or win a Super Bowl, which is something he is hoping to change with the Chiefs.

Hopkins also thanked the Tennessee Titans’ front office in the press conference, noting, “Those guys could have traded me anywhere.”

Hopkins has the most career receiving yards of any active receiver currently on an NFL roster (12,528). The 32-year-old is also a five-time All-Pro and Pro Bowler.

The acquisition of Hopkins came at a crucial time for Kansas City, as they were down their three top receivers heading into their Week 8 matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Although it might take Hopkins a few weeks to get acclimated with the offense and build chemistry with Patrick Mahomes, he will provide a strong veteran presence both in the locker room and on the field.
