Even the NFL couldn’t believe the way the Kansas City Chiefs-Los Angeles Chargers “Sunday Night Football” game ended. The Chiefs took the 19-17 win and the AFC West division title in the showdown, as kicker Matthew Wright delivered the game-winning 31-yard field goal with no time left on the clock.
Making it even better, it looked like the ball was not going in before it hit the left upright of the goal post for the victory.
The reactions of the fans inside GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium say it all, as the home crowd stood from their seats and jumped in delight over the last-second thriller.
As for the NFL, the league’s social media team shared a video of the moment and could only write “unreal” to describe it. Unreal pic.twitter.com/Wx4a3YhaR1 — NFL (@NFL) December 9, 2024 The NFL certainly couldn’t have said it any better.
However, the Chiefs deserve a ton of credit.
Time and time again, when fans thought that they were going to lose, they just found a way to win. Sunday’s win is the Chiefs’ third straight victory by three points or less.
In their Week 13 nail-biter, they edged out the Las Vegas Raiders due to a turnover. Meanwhile, in Week 12, Kansas City beat the Carolina Panthers with a 31-yard field goal.
At this point, the Chiefs’ luck is truly “unreal.”….
