NBA Makes Historic LeBron James Announcement
LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers continued to struggle on Wednesday night as they faced the Miami Heat as part of their four-game road trip.
The Lakers suffered a 134-93 loss, their 10th of the 2024-25 NBA season and the largest defeat they have had all season.
Even with James and fellow star Anthony Davis healthy, Los Angeles couldn’t get back on track.
Coming into the game, James had hit 2,450 three-pointers in his 22-year NBA career, tied with former All-Star Kyle Korver for the seventh-most in league history.
At the 8:55 mark of the third quarter, James made a 26-foot three-point shot off of a Davis assist, his lone long-range make of the game.
In doing so, the four-time NBA MVP passed Korver to take sole possession of seventh on the all-time three-pointers made list with 2,451.
The NBA made an official announcement on X to congratulate “King James” for his latest accomplishment. “Congrats to LeBron James of the Lakers for moving into 7th on the all-time THREES MADE list!”
Congrats to @KingJames of the @Lakers for moving into 7th on the all-time THREES MADE list!

“This milestone highlights his longevity and adaptability in evolving as a perimeter shooter throughout his career,” one fan said. “
Congratulations to the King!” “The King just keeps rewriting the record books,” added another. “Congratulations King,” wrote a third.
Others were enamored by the amount of threes Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry (3,814) has hit in his career, holding the NBA record by a mile.
“He only needs 1,300 points to catch Curry,” one user commented.
“Or 10 more years and for Steph to stop playing.” “
Well if he plays until he’s 55 he could catch Steph Curry,” said a second. “Steph is a (expletive) maniac lmaoooooo,” chimed in a third.
Despite the loss, James, who had been in a slump over the past six contests, finally got it going, but it was not enough.
The 39-year-old tallied 29 points on 12-of-16 shooting, five rebounds and eight assists.
Still, the Lakers have dropped six of their previous eight games and, after starting the season 10-4, have fallen to 12-10 and ninth in the Western Conference standings.
