REPORT: Travis Kelce’s ‘Frustrating’ Confession About Patrick Mahomes Will Surprise You

Kansas City Chiefs superstar Travis Kelce couldn’t hide his disappointment with how he’s playing this season alongside quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

In 2023, Kelce tallied 93 receptions for 984 yards and five touchdowns. The year before that, the Chiefs TE had 1,338 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Kelce has established himself as Mahomes’ favorite target, and he has often delivered to keep Kansas City a dominant force in the NFL.

This 2024 campaign, however, Kelce has largely struggled. Through 12 games so far, he has tallied rather pedestrian numbers of 75 receptions, 637 yards and two touchdown catches.

Now, during Wednesday’s episode of the “New Heights” podcast, Kelce opened up about his uncharacteristic play and admitted that he’s “just not on the same page” as his quarterback.

“Right now, for whatever reason this year, I just can’t find my way in the end zone,” Kelce shared. “I’m just not on the same page as Pat. It can get frustrating. It can get [expletive] frustrating. That’s for damn sure.”

Travis Kelce further expressed his dissatisfaction with how his once source of pride is non-existent this time around.

The 35-year-old TE said that he used to be so lethal in the red zone, but this season, he just couldn’t find his way in such situations.

“Where I take a lot of pride is once we get in that red zone, man,” Kelce added. “I get a little hungrier.”

Despite Kelce’s performance, though, the Chiefs remain the best team in the NFL with an 11-1 record.

Hopes remain high that he will be able to find that edge again in time for the playoffs. After all, for the Chiefs to complete their three-peat bid, they need Patrick Mahomes’ top target to be at his best.
