For the fifth time in his career Jayson Tatum was named the NBA’s Eastern Conference Player of the Month.
The Boston Celtics star earned the honor for games played in October and November as he continues to play some of his best basketball to start the 2024-25 NBA season.
Tatum’s five Player of the Month honors trail only Larry Bird, who won it seven times.
During the Celtics’ games through October and November, Tatum averaged 28.7 points per game and added 8.5 rebounds with 5.8 assists.
The Celtics are second in the Eastern Conference standings at 17-4, behind just the Cleveland Cavaliers who have an 18-3 record after beating Boston, 115-111, on Sunday.
Tatum has helped the Celtics to another strong start both offensively and defensively. In 21 games, the forward is averaging 28.4 points, 8.6 rebounds and 5.6 assists while shooting 45.4% from the field.
The Celtics, coming off a 108-89 win over the Miami Heat while missing key starters, now prepare for the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday.
