Sunday’s Super Bowl rematch between the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers didn’t produce the fireworks many expected, as quarterbacks Patrick Mahomes and Brock Purdy both struggled to find a groove against two top-notch defensive units. In the end, Mahomes and the reigning back-to-back Super Bowl champion Chiefs came out on top once again with a 28-18 win in front of disappointed fans at Levi’s Stadium to improve to 6-0. Mahomes was 16-of-27 for 154 yards, no touchdowns and two interceptions, but he added a rushing score and 39 rushing yards. The Chiefs have proved to be able to win in a variety of ways this year, and staying undefeated when Mahomes isn’t at his best is no easy task. If they can keep this up, it can be expected that they will achieve the first three-peat in NFL history.
Kansas City will look to improve to 7-0 when it takes on the Las Vegas Raiders next Sunday
