UPDATE: Kansas City Chiefs Get Massive Postseason News After Win Over Raiders

Kansas City Chiefs

The Kansas City Chiefs are 11-1 before December. The Chiefs have found ways to win close games for most of the season, as they did on Friday when they defeated the Las Vegas Raiders 19-17 at Arrowhead Stadium. The Chiefs have won eight games by one score or less in 2024.

Kansas City currently would hold the No. 1 seed in the AFC. Their only blemish on the campaign came in a Week 11 loss to the Buffalo Bills at Highmark Stadium.
The Chiefs lost 30-21 in Buffalo, and the game proved Kansas City has much work to do if they want to earn a Super Bowl three-peat in February.

Since the loss to the Bills, the Chiefs have struggled with NFL bottom dwellers. Kansas City narrowly defeated the Carolina Panthers (3-8) 30-27 in Week 12. They were arguably looked worse than they did against Carolina in a two-point win over the now 2-10 Raiders on Friday.

The Chiefs officially made the postseason

However, the Chiefs efforts were enough for the team to reach an important milestone. Kansas City has clinched a playoff berth with the win on Friday.

The Chiefs have now earned 10 playoff appearances in a row, and have reached the postseason in 11 of the last 12 seasons. The Chiefs are attempting to win their fourth Super Bowl during that span.

Despite the close win over a team Kansas City should have put distance on earlier in the game, head coach Andy Reid chose to look at the positive side of things after the game.

“There are some good things,” Reid said. “Most of all, the win, was a positive here. These things are hard to get in this league, especially against this crew. [The Raiders] do a nice job against us.”
