
Speaking on Radio Estadio Noche (Onda Cero), former La Liga coach Pepe Mel weighed in on the growing debate around Xabi Alonso’s future at Real Madrid, calling for restraint and perspective.
“I don’t like seeing coaches get sacked,” Mel said, pushing back against the idea of reactionary decisions based on short-term results.
Mel stressed that Madrid’s commitment should not evaporate so quickly. “A club that fought so hard for a coach can’t throw everything away in four months,” he said.
