The Miami Heat find themselves with an 8-8 record, sitting at sixth in the East. They have won four of their previous six games. So, things are improving even if slightly.
One constant worry for the Heat will be the fitness of Jimmy Butler. The veteran is arguably still their best player at 35 years of age, especially after Bam Adebayo’s downturn in output this season. Of course, Tyler Herro has to be in that conversation now as well.
Butler had returned from an injury not too long ago but appeared to pick up another issue in his most recent outing.
Butler was not able to finish the Heat’s win against the Charlotte Hornets because of a back issue. But the good news is that it does not appear to be a problem that will keep him out for long.
According to the Heat on X, Butler (back tightness) is listed as probable to play in tomorrow night’s game against the Toronto Raptors.
That will be music to the ears of Miami fans. The Heat are always a better team when Butler is available. He has the ability to decide a game. They do not have too many other players who can do that.
One could argue that we have not seen Butler anywhere near his best so far this season. Just when it feels like he is starting to find his rhythm, he ends up picking up an issue.
So far this season, Butler has averaged 18.4 points, 5.4 rebounds and 4.8 assists in 12 games. Other than his three-point shot, he is not a million miles away though. Let’s just hope that he can remain injury-free and go on a good run of games.
