Tottenham Tipped to Include Star Player in a Potential Swap Deal for Antoine Semenyo.

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly considering alternative approaches in their pursuit of Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo, with the Premier League side unwilling to overpay for the in-form attacker. Semenyo’s strong performances have attracted widespread attention, forcing Spurs to think creatively if they are to get a deal done.

Spurs insider John Wenham has suggested that Tottenham could look at a potential swap deal to reduce the financial burden of signing the Ghana international. With Bournemouth understood to be holding out for a significant fee, Wenham believes Spurs may need to include one of their own players to move negotiations forward.

The player being discussed is Brennan Johnson, who could be offered as part of the deal. Speaking on the situation, Wenham said:

“Tottenham know Bournemouth won’t sell Semenyo cheaply. A player like Brennan Johnson still has strong Premier League value, and a swap deal could suit everyone involved. It wouldn’t be about getting rid of him — it would be about making the numbers work.”

Johnson has shown flashes of quality since arriving in north London but has struggled to secure a consistent place in the starting XI. With competition in Tottenham’s attacking areas increasing, the club may view him as a valuable asset who could help unlock a deal for a more physically dominant and versatile forward.

For Bournemouth, receiving a proven Premier League winger alongside a cash fee could be an attractive proposition if Semenyo decides to push for a move. Johnson’s pace and direct style would offer them a ready-made replacement, reducing the impact of losing one of their standout performers.

While no formal talks have been confirmed, Wenham’s comments highlight Tottenham’s willingness to be flexible in the transfer market. As the window approaches, Spurs may decide that a swap deal represents the most realistic path to securing Semenyo’s signature.
