The Los Angeles Lakers beat the Toronto Raptors on Thursday, 123-120. Despite an off night from LeBron James, the Lakers held on and secured their 16th win of the 2025-26 NBA season. James’ streak of scoring 10+ points ended against the Raptors, as he finished with just eight points.
James’ scoring streak ended at 1,297 games. On the final play, he had the chance to keep it alive to give the Lakers the win. However, he passed to a better shot, finding forward Rui Hachimura in the corner for three. It was a last-second decision from the four-time champion.
Although fans appreciated James’ strong IQ, former Fox Sports analyst Skip Bayless had strong words online.

After the game, Bayless went on X (formerly Twitter) and didn’t hold back with his criticism of James.
“LEBRICK JAMES: Finally held under 10 after again and again barely surviving. At Toronto, he went 4-17 and 0-5 WITHOUT LUKA. Undrafted Austin Reaves: 44! Lakers win in spite of the ‘King.’” Bayless posted.
Despite his offensive struggles, James helped the team in other areas. He grabbed six rebounds and dished out 11 assists for the Lakers. In the scoring department, it was undrafted guard Austin Reaves who took over LA, with his 44-point outing.
Bayless’ most recent criticism of James isn’t something new, as he has always been vocal about it.
Back in November, the media personality accused the four-time MVP of jealousy toward his co-star, Luka Doncic. The five-time All-Star received MVP chants from the crowd at Crypto.com Arena on Nov. 25 against the Utah Jazz. The fans in the arena cheered for Doncic after his 43-point performance led the Lakers to a 135-118 win.
