BRONX BOMB SHELL: Yankees plot a jaw-dropping trade to snag a $6.5M All-Star closer to fill Devin Williams’ shoes, insiders are buzzing over a move that could shift the AL East balance, and now fans are on edge imagining the high-stakes chaos about to hit New York..ll Read more 👇👇👇

The New York Yankees just lost one of their top relievers in Devin Williams, who just signed with their crosstown rivals, the New York Mets. They need to replace his arm however they can, especially with other AL East teams making moves. There might be a perfect replacement, though. Bleacher Report’s Joel Reuter proposes that the Yankees make another trade with the Milwaukee Brewers, this time for All-Star Trevor Megill.

Proposed Yankees trade sees New York land $6.5 million All-Star closer to replace arm of Devin Williams image

The trade would look like this:

Yankees get: RHP Trevor Megill

Brewers get: RHP Carlos Lagrange, 1B T.J. Rumfield, RHP Harrison Cohen

“The Yankees have a clear need to bolster their relief corps and a history of dealing with the Brewers, as just last winter they acquired Devin Williams under similar circumstances,” Reuter wrote.

This past season, Megill posted a 6-3 record, an ERA of 2.49, 60 Ks, a WHIP of 1.128, and 30 saves in 50 games. He would be an amazing backend reliever to pair with David Bednar, and hopefully do what Williams was meant to do.

This is pretty funny, having the Yanks trade for another All-Star closer from the Brewers. Overall though, it’s a good trade, as it solves the problem of losing Williams.

With the Brewers hosting a potential fire sale, the Yanks need to get in while they can. Hopefully, they craft up an offer quickly, before another contender beats them to the punch.
