Travis Kelce Saw a Kid Fall From the Stands and 'Kept On Moving'

Travis Kelce is weighing in on Kansas City Chiefs teammate Tershawn Wharton’s heroic act during the Chiefs’ Sunday, November 24, game against the Carolina Panthers.

Wharton went viral over the weekend after being filmed catching a young fan who fell from the bleachers while trying to greet the victorious Chiefs following their 30-27 victory over the Panthers at the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina.

On the Wednesday, November 27, episode of the “New Heights” podcast, Travis and brother Jason Kelce praised Wharton for his quick thinking as the little boy tumbled over the bleachers overlooking the players’ tunnel.

“Play of the game from Tershawn Wharton,” Jason, 37, said on the podcast, per TalkSport.

Travis, 35, meanwhile, admitted that he saw the moment unfold.

“I actually saw this and I kept on moving … I felt bad after,” the Chiefs tight end told his brother. “I was to the left and I was like, ‘Oh s—. You got him, Turk? Hell yeah, Turk’s got him!’”

Travis went on to joke that the young boy should “sue the Panthers.”

“I don’t know who the brainiac was that cut the railing there. What the f— is the gap for?” he said. “He should f—ing go to school with a neck brace on and sue the Panthers. Get rich quick, kid.”

“Shout-out to Turk for making sure the little guy was alright,” he ended on a more serious note.

Wharton, 26, spoke about his heroic save on the Tuesday, November 26, episode of ESPN’s The Pat McAfee Show.

“I would say it’s natural reaction,” he said, per TODAY.com. “I heard my name a little bit and when I heard my name, I seen him coming down. I just had to kind of like push him into the stands a little bit to make sure he didn’t hit too hard.”

“I kind of grabbed him right by the back of his back and kind of like pushed him into the stands a little bit more,” he added.

Wharton said he didn’t get to meet the little boy but extended an invite to him to meet in the future.

“I haven’t [met him] but I would like to reach out to him, get him to a game, be able to reflect with him a little more if I could,” he said.
