TheĀ Kansas City ChiefsĀ faced one of their toughest challenges of the 2025 NFL season in Week 12, as they had to go up against a very goodĀ Indianapolis ColtsĀ squad, led by a veteran quarterbackĀ Daniel JonesĀ and NFL MVP candidate in running backĀ Jonathan Taylor.

Although the Colts appeared to be in control throughout the majority of the game in front of theĀ diehard Chiefs fansĀ at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium,Ā Patrick MahomesĀ and company were resilient, forcing overtime and ultimately coming out on top due to a game-winning field goal.
Along with Mahomes throwing for 352 yards, veteran running backĀ Kareem HuntĀ had himself a game and was a big reason the team is now over .500 at 6-5.

Hunt racked up 130 yards and a rushing touchdown on 30 carries during the overtime win over the Colts, which was enough to be named AFC Offensive Player of the Week, as the team announced on Wednesday ahead of Thanksgiving.
In 11 games played so far this season for the Chiefs, the Toledo product has scored as many rushing touchdowns as he did in the 13 games he played during the 2024 campaign. Heās also added a receiving touchdowns with 549 yards from scrimmage.
Although Hunt isnāt the same player that he was as a rookie with the Chiefs, where he exploded on theĀ NFLĀ scene racking up 1,782 yards from scrimmage and 11 total touchdowns, heās still played an important role in his second stint in Kansas City.
It remains to be seen how Huntās role will be impacted when Isiah Pacheco returns for the Thanksgiving Day clash with theĀ Dallas CowboysĀ on the road at AT&T Stadium. The Chiefs alsoĀ brought in former Houston Texans running back Dameon PierceĀ this week, who was added to the practice squad.

With the win over the Colts last week, the Chiefs were finally able to get over .500 at 6-5, but how the rest of the season will pan out or if Kansas City can clinch a playoff spot remains to be seen.
Andy Reidās squad will face some tough challenges in the final stretch of the 2025 NFL regular season. The storied franchise will take on the high-powered offense of the Cowboys on Thanksgiving followed by matchups against the resurgentĀ Houston TexansĀ (Week 14), division rivalĀ Los Angeles ChargersĀ (Week 15),Ā Tennessee TitansĀ (Week 16),Ā Denver BroncosĀ (Week 17) andĀ Las Vegas RaidersĀ (Week 18).
Although thereās a few potentially easy matchups in this final stretch, namely the games against the Titans and Raiders, every other matchup will be tough, as they are all potential playoff teams playing for a spot in the postseason and seeding in the AFC.
The matchup with the Broncos will likely be the most interesting, considering how close the last meeting was between the two AFC West squads. Itāll be interesting to see how things pan out for the Chiefs and whether they can be playoff bound yet again or see their decade-long streak of postseason appearances come to an end.
