Baltimore Ravens tight end Mark Andrews.
We can all appreciate creative play calling. What the Baltimore Ravens dialed up in a Week 11 win over the Cleveland Browns deserves its own category.
The Ravens lined up for what appeared to be their version of the Tush Push on 4th-and-1 at the Browns’ 35-yard line, tied 16-16 with the Brown with 2:31 left in the fourth quarter. In this situation, NFL All-Pro tight end Mark Andrews was under center in place of quarterback Lamar Jackson.
Instead of diving forward for 1 yard, Andrews bootlegged and raced 35 yards for a touchdown and what proved to be the game-winning touchdown in a 23-16 win by the Ravens.
It was the fourth consecutive win for Baltimore, which evened its record at 5-5 after starting the season 1-5. It was also the first career rushing touchdown for Andrews, a 3-time Pro Bowler in his eighth NFL season.
“MARK ANDREWS FAKE TUSH PUSH TOUCHDOWN WHAT AN INSANE PLAY CALL,” NFL reporter Dov Kleiman wrote on his official X account.
It was an incredible day for Andrews, who also set the Ravens’ career receiving yards record as well with 3 receptions for 32 yards. Andrews now has 468 receptions for 5,806 yards, breaking Derrick Mason’s record fo 471 receptions for 5,771 yards.
Internet Melts Down Over Andrews TD
NFL fans were not ready for the gutsy, genius play call to beat the Browns or the sight of the 6-foot-5, 250 pound Andrews racing away from Cleveland’s defensive backs for the touchdown.
“Not a bad time for Mark Andrews‘ first career rushing TD,” the NFL wrote on its official X account.
“Insane: Mark Andrews fake tush-push, spin out for the game,” NFL insider Jordan Schultz wrote on his official X account. “What a call.”
“Every single horribly ran tush push walked so mark andrews could run in that touchdown,” Ravens fan CFlockWood wrote on his official X account.
“The Ravens setup in a sneak formation with TE Mark Andrews… and then he rolled it out for a 35 yard TD,” The 33rd Team’s Ari Meirov wrote on his official X account.
“Todd Monken & the Ravens have struggled in short-yardage situations in 2025, and in perhaps the biggest moment of the season, neither Derrick Henry nor Lamar Jackson got the football,” All 22 Films wrote on its official X account. “Mark Andrews on a reverse pivot ‘Boot’ puts the Ravens up 23-16.”
“MARK ANDREWS TUSH PUSH?!?” Zach Bollinger of The Ryan Ripken Show wrote on his official X account. “NO HOW ABOUT A MARK ANDREWS 35 YARD TOUCHDOWN RUJ FOR THE LEAD.”
Trade Rumors Follow Andrews Since Playoff Choke
Andrews has been the subject of trade rumors since the moment he dropped a 2-point conversion that would have tied the game in the fourth quarter of an AFC Divisional Round loss to the Buffalo Bills to end the 2024 season.
Unfortunately for Andrews, he also lost a fumble in the second half that led to a Bills touchdown.
Since then, the word on Andrews has been that the Ravens might try to trade him and get some value back as he’s in the final season of his 4-year, $56 million contract extension.
That trade never materialized, and with the Ravens one of the NFL’s hottest teams, it might end up being the difference in them making the playoffs or not.
