Breaking: Dodgers World Series Star Projected To Land $100-Plus Million Contract In Free Agency

The Los Angeles Dodgers dominantly won the 2024 World Series, partly due to their ace Jack Flaherty, and his excellent Game 1 start.

Flaherty was a 2024 trade deadline acquisition and he more than proved the Dodgers right in acquiring him.

But now he’s a free agent, and he can sign with any team he wants. Teams like the Boston Red Sox, New York Mets, San Francisco Giants, Toronto Blue Jays, and Detroit Tigers all make plenty of sense as potential landing spots.

Flaherty’s contract value was rumored to be in the $60 million range. In fact, Spotrac projects Flaherty to sign a three-year, $63 million deal. But FanSided’s MLB insider Robert Murray expects Flaherty to land a contract much more valuable than that.

“In polling different executives and agents around baseball, the feeling I get is that it’s entirely possible that Jack Flaherty signs a contract worth over $100 million,” Murray wrote. “It’s unclear what team will give Flaherty that contract – it’s unlikely that the Dodgers would do that – but the right-hander is in position to cash in this offseason.”

When Murray insinuates this, he’s likely alluding to adding years on the rumored three-year deal, not adding a whole bunch of money per season. It’s more likely that we see Flaherty sign a four- or five-year contract worth over $100 million, depending on how willing a team is to commit to him.

For the Detroit Tigers, if they whiff on Alex Bregman, they could bring back Flaherty as the second ace behind Tarik Skubal. These two sides have kept a solid relationship, even after Detroit traded him.
