The Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills are less than a week removed from their game on Sunday, November 2, which saw the Chiefs fall to the Bills in a 28-27 final tally. Whenever two AFC heavyweights go at it, tensions are high, and Sunday’s game was no exception. During the game, championship-winning quarterbacks Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen took center stage, and each team’s starters also meant business on the field.

So, the Chiefs now have a 5-4 record as their NFL bye week continues, and the Bills are 6-2. Following the game, one of the most talked about moments was when Kelce was forced to leave the field, albeit momentarily, after Bills safety Cole Bishop sent a tough hit to Kelce’s chest. No flag was thrown on the incompletion to Kelce, but Bishop’s actions were basically sending a blow to a defenseless player.

Every week during the regular season, the NFL announces penalizes for players for actions taken during the previous week’s games. The NFL notes on their website that these actions are “to protect players from unnecessary risk and preserve competitive balance and game integrity, the NFL and NFL Players Association have agreed on a set of game-related rules violations that may result in accountability measures.”

The NFL has officially released its report for Week 9, and Bishop is not on the tally. So, he’s stepping away from the incident with his hands clean. What’s wild is that four Bills players are being fined this week, just not Bishop, including Allen, Christian Benford, Ty Johnson and Elijah Moore.

According to the NFL, the funds raised from those fines will go to the Professional Athletes Foundation to “support legends in need and the NFL Foundation to further support the health, safety and wellness of athletes across all levels, including youth football and the communities that support the game.”

No Kansas City Chiefs players were hit with penalties from the NFL for actions taken in Week 9. Now, the Chiefs are on their NFL bye week, and they’ll return to the field for a Week 11 contest on Sunday, November 16, against the Denver Broncos on the road.

The Broncos are coming off a 10-7 win over the Las Vegas Raiders on Thursday, November 6, and the low-scoring game was a snoozer. But, Denver will be much more tested when they come up against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Following the loss, Raiders head coach Pete Carroll said, “There’s a lot of factors here. We’ve got to run the ball better against a really hard group tonight. We’ve got to protect better. They’re way out above everybody else rushing the passer and they were able to do it again.”

One thing the Kansas City Chiefs will have to watch for when they take on Denver is the Broncos’ strong defense. During the contest, Raiders quarterback Geno Smith was sacked six times by the Broncos’ defense, and Denver leads the NFL in that category, according to NFL research. Also in the game, the Raiders were held to 188 yards of offense.
