🔥 YANKEES PRESSURE MOVE: Fans and analysts push New York to bring back $7.75M former Cy Young candidate via free agency to bolster Gerrit Cole and the starting rotation — could this reunion reshape the pitching landscape?..ll

Yankees urged to reunite with $7.75 million former Cy Young candidate through free agency to support Gerrit Cole, starting rotation imageThe New York Yankees have created themselves an awesome starting rotation, with the likes of Gerrit Cole, Carlos Rodon, Max Fried, and Cam Schlittler. However, their final spot is still a question mark, and injuries have been prevalent.

Fansided’s Rucker Haringey believes he has a solution, and urges the Yanks to pursue a reunion with former Cy Young candidate Michael King.

“Giving Michael King up in the Juan Soto trade was a painful choice for Cashman and the front office. Now, New York has a chance to bring the versatile right-hander back to the Bronx for a second tour of duty…Knowing that King can handle the heat of pitching in New York should give Cashman more comfort in making an aggressive bid for his services. A short-term deal that gives King a chance to get back on the open market could be best for all involved,” Haringey wrote.

This past season King was dealing with injuries, but he still posted a 5-3 record, 3.44 ERA, 76 Ks, and a WHIP of 1.200 over 73 innings pitched. He would fit in great at the end of the rotation, and has experience as a Yankee already.

In his tenure with the Yankees, he posted a 3.38 ERA, 282 Ks, and a WHIP of 1.191 over five years. With that in mind, being a fourth or fifth man in the rotation would work perfectly for him.

Hopefully, the Yankees listen, and go out and reunite with their old friend.
