Tottenham Hotspur are preparing to offer Micky van de Ven a new contract and pay rise in recognition of his impressive form and growing importance to the team, according to The Telegraph.
The Dutch defender, who scored a stunning solo goal against Copenhagen in the Champions League on Tuesday night, has quickly established himself as a key figure alongside Cristian Romero in what Spurs consider one of the Premier League’s strongest centre-back pairings.
Romero became the club’s highest-paid player after signing a new deal in the summer, and Tottenham now want Van de Ven’s terms to better reflect his impact.
Although the 24-year-old still has three and a half years remaining on his current contract, the club are eager to extend it beyond 2029 and reward him with an improved salary. Spurs are under no pressure to rush negotiations but have already decided that Van de Ven’s performances merit formal recognition.
