Manchester United supporters have made it clear that Ruben Amorim must drop a particular player following the team’s 2-2 draw against Nottingham Forest.
The Red Devils’ frustrating run continued on Saturday as they failed to win for the fourth consecutive match, despite briefly leading at the City Ground. Casemiro opened the scoring just before half-time, giving United hope of finally ending their winless streak. However, Forest fought back strongly in the second half through goals from Morgan Gibbs-White and Nicolo Savona, turning the game on its head.
Amad Diallo later produced a moment of brilliance to salvage a point for Amorim’s side, but the result did little to ease pressure on the Portuguese manager, whose team selection has again come under scrutiny. Many fans have directed their frustration toward one player in particular, insisting that he should be dropped ahead of United’s upcoming clash with Tottenham Hotspur.
Right-back Diogo Dalot found himself at the centre of heavy criticism after another disappointing display. Amorim substituted him in the second half for Patrick Dorgu — a decision that many fans felt was long overdue. Social media was flooded with angry reactions from supporters who were fed up with Dalot’s performances.
One fan fumed on X, “Dalot, the sooner you leave my club, the better my life will get.” Another added, “Dalot keeps costing us over and over again. Why does Amorim continue to pick him?”
Others mocked the defender’s inconsistency, with one sarcastically writing, “Dalot is that player who, if you watch a short clip of him, you’d think he’s awful. Then you watch the full game and realise you were right.”
A particularly frustrated fan summed it up: “Dalot is so hard to watch. Isn’t defending about being physical and stopping crosses? He just hops around and ball-watches until the ball’s in the box. Embarrassing defending.”
Their frustration seems justified, as Dalot appeared to be at fault for Savona’s goal that forced United to chase an equaliser — leaving Amorim with a tough decision to make ahead of their next Premier League outing.
