The Miami Heat have gotten off to a solid start considering the state of their roster, which has invoked confidence in the rest of the team.

The Heat have come out to a 3-2 start to the season, including wins over the New York Knicks and Memphis Grizzlies. They’ve done this without Tyler Herro for every game so far, and without Norman Powell for the last two.

Powell has been nursing a groin injury, while Herro is still recovering from ankle and foot surgery back in September. Herro was the team’s leading scorer last season, averaging 23.9 points per game and being named to his first All-Star appearance.

After the team’s latest loss to the San Antonio Spurs, forward Andrew Wiggins spoke about the confidence he has in the team once Powell and Herro are able to return to the court.

“That’s a whole other level we can take once those guys get back,” Wiggins said. “Those are big time players. It’ll be a special moment when we have the whole squad together.”

The Heat are always going to play hard no matter what the state of their team is, so there should be virtually no drop-off in intensity until the Heat’s leading scorers return to the court.
