Since announcing their engagement on August 26 with photos of the romantic, rose-covered proposal set-up complete with Swift’s 10-carat engagement ring, the couple has been deep in wedding planning mode—and according to sources, Swift and Kelce are prioritizing spending as much time together as possible while also incorporating their families into the celebration.
Since Kelce has Kansas City Chiefs games on his schedule for both Thanksgiving and Christmas, the couple’s holiday plans will be “very low-key, family-centric and [won’t involve any] major travel,” an inside source told Us Weekly in a story published on Wednesday, October 29. The Chiefs will be playing at the Dallas Cowboys’ AT&T Stadium on Thanksgiving before heading back to Arrowhead Stadium for their Christmas day game, meaning fans might see Swift cheering on her fiancé in the stands.
Despite Kelce’s busy football schedule, the source revealed that both Swift and the athlete are planning to split time with their families to celebrate these holidays.
Considering the Swift family previously hosted the Kelces for a Thanksgiving in Nashville, and Travis and Taylor spent Mother’s Day with both their moms in Philadelphia, it’s also possible that they might make these celebrations a joint family affair.
“Travis fits right in with her family, and Taylor adores [his mom] Donna. They talk all the time,” the source added. “They make sure to see both sides as often as they can. They are super family-oriented, and they have always loved that about one another.”
The source added that after a whirlwind few years, a busy summer of traveling, and their “high-profile careers,” they’re basking in the “simplicity and normalcy” of life together at Kelce’s Kansas compound. While Swift and Kelce might be one of the most famous couples in the world, they’re all about being low-key when they’re relaxing at home.
“Taylor and Travis are really chill,” another source told the publication. “On a typical night in, they’re usually having dinner and figuring out what to stream. It’s very domestic and calm.”
