Former Indiana football and Tri-West High School football player Peyton Hendershot has been waived by the Kansas City Chiefs.
Hendershot played for Kansas City on special teams in Week 2 after being acquired in a trade with the Dallas Cowboys.
He was inactive in the Chiefs’ opener, but he incurred a $5,472 fine − and the Chiefs were fined $100,000 − for pushing Baltimore Ravens linebacker Roquan Smith along the sideline. Hendershot responded to what he felt was a late hit by Smith on Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. No flag was thrown on the play.
Kansas City traded a conditional 7th-round draft pick on Aug. 27 to Dallas for Hendershot, who had 11 catches and 2 touchdowns in his 2022 rookie season. He had 4 catches last season.
Peyton Hendershot contract
He’s in the final season of a 3-year, $2.57 million deal. $165,000 of the contract was guaranteed.
