BLOCKBUSTER BUZZ: trade talks erupt as Jrue Holiday linked to the Heat in a $112 million shocker — insiders hint it could flip the entire Eastern race — fans are losing it over who’s really winning this deal..ll

A mock trade has the Portland Trail Blazers sending Jrue Holiday to the Miami Heat in exchange for two players to upgrade their roster depth.

The Portland Trail Blazers will enter the 2025-26 NBA season looking to build on their success in the second half of last season as they try to compete for a playoff spot in the loaded Western Conference.

Of course, Portland fell just short of making the Play In last season after they went on a run during the second half of the season behind their core led by Deni Avdija, Toumani Camara, Scoot Henderson and Shaedon Sharpe.

Portland also made some key additions to their roster this offseason as they selected Yang Hansen in the first round of the 2025 draft, acquired Jrue Holiday in the trade that sent Anfernee Simons to the Boston Celtics and signed Damian Lillard after he was waived by the Milwaukee Bucks.

By making these moves, the Trail Blazers have their sights set on returning to the playoffs this season, though they could also look to make moves ahead of the trade deadline.

Heat Could Target Trail Blazers’ Jrue Holiday

One player Portland could look to move this season is Holiday as the veteran guard could draw attention from teams around the NBA in need of point guard depth.

The two-time champion is a reliable scorer, playmaker and defender who the Trail Blazers could be open to moving this season.

Mock Trade Sends Jrue Holiday to Miami, Terry Rozier, Jaime Jaquez Jr. to Portland

In a potential trade, the Trail Blazers could send Holiday to the Heat in exchange for Terry Rozier, Jaime Jaquez Jr. and draft capital.

While moving Holiday could be a tough decision for Portland to make due to his skills on the court and his leadership in the locker room, swapping him for a solid young forward in Jaquez Jr. and a solid backup guard in Rozier could benefit them.

For Jaquez Jr., he took a step back in production last season in Miami due to his minutes being cut but he still proved to be a solid scorer and rebounder.

Last season, the 24-year-old forward averaged 8.6 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game while shooting 46.1% from the field and 31.1% from three.

Of course, Jaquez Jr. would likely come off the bench in Portland behind Camara and Avdija, though he could have a much larger role than he would have in Miami.

For Rozier, he is coming off a disappointing season that saw his production take a massive hit.

Last season, the 31-year-old guard averaged 10.6 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game while shooting 39.1% from the field and 29.5% from three.

Despite his struggles last season, Rozier has proven in the past to be a reliable scorer and playmaker who could benefit from a change of scenery.

By making this trade, Portland would add two more key players to their roster, along with draft capital, as they try to make a run at a playoff spot this season.
