It’s officially over. Taylor Swift’s six-show “Eras Tour” run in Toronto came to an end on Saturday after the 34-year-old’s final performance at Rogers Centre. It was an emotional show for Swift, who had to fight back tears as her Canadian fans showered her with love throughout the concert.
The Rogers Centre is also the home of the Toronto Blue Jays of the MLB, and it was great to see baseball fans flock to the stadium for the “Eras Tour.” In fact, several videos are making their rounds on social media wherein Jays supporters chant their team’s name as Swift performed her 2014 hit song “Blank Space.”
The Blue Jays themselves previously declared their fandom for Swift as they posted a photo of the Rogers Centre decked out in Swift-themed friendship bracelets — an element of the “Eras Tour” that has become part and parcel of the five-continent, year-and-a-half-long concert series.
“In our Tayronto Era ✨” posted the Blue Jays on X on Nov. 14.
At one point during Saturday’s show, Swift showed her love back to the capacity crowd. The multi-Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter sent a strong message to her fans in Toronto as she announced that the “Eras Tour” had just made history at Rogers Centre.
“You’re making me feel like, thanks to you, the ‘Eras Tour’ gets to be the first tour ever to play six sold-out shows at Rogers Centre,” Swift passionately declared as she raised her arm in triumphant celebration.
Swift’s message was met with roaring applause and deafening cheers from more than 50,000 adoring fans inside the stadium. Needless to say, the Torontonians just exhibited how much love and support they have for Swift.
Toronto was the second-to-the-last stop of the “Eras Tour.” Swift now gets a few days off before her next show on Thursday in Vancouver. She will hold three shows at BC Place, which will be her final performances in what has been a concert series unlike anyone has ever seen in the past.
