Warriors cut ties with undrafted 6-foot-10 rookie big man less than two days into training camp imageThe NBA can be unforgiving at times, making it vital to remain level-headed as often as possible. An undrafted 6-foot-10 rookie big man will have to do just that ahead of his first NBA season, as he was waived by the Golden State Warriors less than two days into training camp.“The Golden State Warriors have waived forward Ja’Vier Francis, guard Chance McMillian, and forward Jacksen Moni,” the organization said last Monday in a news release. The Warriors’ surprising roster move came hours after they revealed that Moni had secured a training camp roster spot in the Bay.

Moni ended his college career at North Dakota State after notching over 1,500 points and earning NSIC All-Conference first team honors on two occasions at Northern State University.

The Fargo, North Dakota native continued his prolific scoring ways with the Bison, averaging 20.8 points per game while shooting 50.8% from the field and 40.3% from three-point range as a senior.

After discovering he wasn’t among the 59 players selected in the 2025 NBA Draft, Moni signed a Summer League deal with the San Antonio Spurs.

Moni averaged 5.5 points on a remarkable 57.1% shooting from the field and 60% shooting from deep in two contests.

Although Moni experienced a rough patch to begin his professional career, his journey is far from over at just 22 years old.
