Kelce still had one epic year. He found the love of his life in Taylor Swift, and the couple announced their engagement in August. Kelce proposed to the 35-year-old pop star after she appeared on his “New Heights” in August. During her record-breaking guest appearance on the show, Swift first announced her new album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” and its October 3rd release date.
The All-Pro tight end inspired numerous songs on the 12-track album, which is already making history. Billboard reported that “The Life of a Showgirl” sold 2.7 million copies in traditional album sales, marking Swift’s biggest week ever. The only album with a bigger opening is Adele’s “25,” which sold 3.378 million copies in its first week back in 2015.
Taylor Swift’s ‘The Life of A Showgirl’ has officially broken the record for biggest vinyl sales week for any album in Nielsen history, with 1.2 million sold on release day.

When it comes to vinyl sales, however, Swift reigns supreme. Chart Data posted, “Taylor Swift’s ‘The Life of A Showgirl’ has officially broken the record for biggest vinyl sales week for any album in Nielsen history, with 1.2 million sold on release day. It shatters the record set by ‘The Tortured Poets Department’, with 859K in one week.”
While Swift continues to break new records in the music industry, however, Kelce got some disappointing news regarding his podcast.
Travis Kelce & Jason Kelce’s Award-Winning Podcast Got Snubbed By The Golden Globes
Jason Kelce (L) and Travis Kelce attend the Amazon 2025 Upfront at Beacon Theatre on May 12, 2025 in New York City.
After the Golden Globes announced that they were adding a “Best Podcast” category to the show in 2026, “New Heights” immediately reacted with interest.
The show won the 2025 iHeartPodcast Award in the Best Sports category, beating out “The Herd with Colin Cowherd,” “The Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz,” “The Bill Simmons Podcast,” and “All The Smoke.”
“New Heights” won Podcast of the Year at the iHeartPodcast Awards in 2024 and remains one of the top sports podcasts in the nation. With the show’s continuous stream of star-studded guests, “New Heights” seemed to have a solid shot at being considered for a Golden Globe.

However, the 25 finalists for the “Best Podcast” award were announced, and “New Heights” did not make the cut. The Hollywood Reporter revealed the following podcasts remain eligible to win the Golden Globe:

While Kelce can’t add “Golden Globe winner” to his resume this year, the 10-time Pro Bowler still has a lot to celebrate. Right now, he couldn’t be prouder of his future wife and her success. And “New Heights” getting a shoutout on Swift’s track, “Wood,” likely means more to the Chiefs star.
Swift told BBC 1 Radio that she played all of her new songs for Kelce after recording them with Max Martin and Shellback.
“I would play it for him as soon as I would come back from Sweden,” Swift said. “As soon as I got back I would play it. I knew that this was the kind of album that he was going to love the most, he’s so supportive of all it, but he’s a real vibes guy.”
