BREAKING NEWS: I don’t want to sound rude but what Arteta said to me after Gabriel was scored the winning goal really got me upset,I have already reported to FA already”, Newcastle star Joenlinton finally reveals the real reason behind His heated exchange with Mikel Arteta after the Full time whistle yesterday

Newcastle star Joelinton was spotted having a heated exchange with a member of Mikel Arteta’s coaching staff just minutes after Arsenal snatched a dramatic 2-1 victory. Gabriel Magalhaes’ 96th-minute goal completed a late comeback from the Gunners, who went behind in the first half after Nick Woltemade’s header.

Substitute Mikel Merino levelled things with six minutes of normal time remaining before Gabriel grabbed all three points for Arsenal deep into stoppage time. After the final whistle, Joelinton – who’d been brought off prior to the away side’s winner – made a beeline for Gunners coach Miguel Molina.

The Brazilian midfielder confronted Molina, pushing him before Arteta stepped in to defuse the situation. Newcastle coach Simon Weatherstone then led Joelinton away.

Arteta attempted to smooth things over by offering to shake hands with the infuriated 29-year-old, who was still upset about the events that had transpired. Joelinton appeared no less agitated, as he walked away from the Gunners boss.

There were no such frustrations for Arteta, whose team are now second in the table, two points behind title rivals Liverpool.

“The belief, the conviction of the team that we are and that we can play various types of games and the team still can deliver and win it in a convincing way,” the Arsenal manager hailed.

“And for me today, it’s one of the most difficult grounds. Again, praise Newcastle, the way they play, compete, how difficult it is to play in this place. But the team really took the game to a different level, and I’m very proud to see that.”

When asked if Arsenal felt under pressure to capitalise after Liverpool’s loss away to Crystal Palace on Saturday, Arteta replied: “Well, yes, there are moments in the season, and obviously, with the style that we had already and the difficult fixtures that we had, today we had the opportunity to close that gap.

“And do it in a stadium that has a very recent and difficult past for us. I think it shows how much the team wants it.”

Eddie Howe, meanwhile, lamented Newcastle’s defeat, telling Chronicle Live: “I think harsh words are sometimes needed. Whether that is to the team or to indviduals, I will usually look to do it on an indvidual basis.

“What I look for is effort, commitment, desire and organisation. There are so many things that go into a performance. I am seeing the effort there, but the quality was lacking. So I have to be very careful.
