INSIDE SCOOP: RYAN MCMAHON TALKS PLAYING UNDER AARON BOONE ⚾. The Yankees’ infielder shares candid insights on the locker room dynamics, coaching style, and how Boone’s leadership shapes roster decisions and the team’s playoff mindset. Could McMahon’s comments hint at internal tension, or reveal a secret edge for New York’s postseason push?

Rockies Journal: Yankees' Ryan McMahon ready for pressure in Bronx

New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone can be a tough manager to play for. He, just like the fanbase, expects the best from all the players and will hold them accountable when they are not performing as well as they should.

Boone is also a manager who is not afraid to speak his mind, whether that be in the clubhouse, to the umpires, or even to the media before and after games. He is known to blow up on those whom he feels have wronged him or his team and has been the headline for plenty of ejections throughout his career.

Ryan McMahon went from playing for the Colorado Rockies, who were not expected to do much at all, to playing for a team that has World Series aspirations every single season. It was quite the adjustment, but McMahon is doing his best to help his team live up to those aspirations.

Ryan McMahon recently sat down with the New York Post’s Steve Serby. Here, Serby asked the 2024 All-Star what it was like playing under Aaron Boone.

“Super calm. Doesn’t let the small things get to him. Kind of Steddie Eddie, man. He’s been the same guy every single day that I’ve been here. I showed up and it was kinda during a little rougher stretch and just cool as a cucumber, man. When you have a guy at the head running it like that, it definitely relieves some stress for the players.”

According to McMahon, Boone is quite calm, and that calmness allows the players to focus more on their craft. That is quite the compliment for a player who has only been around for a little over two months.
