The summer transfer window may have only closed a couple of weeks ago, but preparations are already underway across Europe for the January market, which opens in just over three months.
Reports suggest that Yves Bissouma is almost certain to depart Tottenham in January, with the midfielder entering the final year of his contract. In recent days, West Ham have moved ahead of Everton in the race for his signature, though both Premier League clubs are expected to face stiff competition from Italy.
According to Calciomercato.it, Spurs failed to offload the Mali international on loan before the summer deadline, and the player does not feature in Thomas Frank’s plans. While West Ham and Everton remain keen, Tottenham are thought to prefer selling him abroad rather than to a domestic rival.
AC Milan, Inter Milan, Juventus, and AS Roma are all monitoring the situation and are prepared to move for the 28-year-old in January. With only six months remaining on his deal by then, each of the Serie A giants sees the opportunity to secure him on a cut-price transfer.
Among them, Milan appear to hold an advantage. The Rossoneri had considered a move for Bissouma in the summer before prioritising Ardon Jashari. Reports now indicate they had even put a proposal on the table but failed to reach an agreement with Spurs. Calciomercato.it claims Milan remain highly interested and are positioning themselves as frontrunners ahead of a renewed push for the midfielder in January.
